Isaac Jordan places first at 165 at Wolfpack Open

RALEIGH, N.C. – Graham High School graduate Isaac Jordan earned a first-place finish to lead the 17 members of the 11th-ranked University of Wisconsin wrestling team to a third-place finish in the Wolfpack Open.

Jordan, 165-pounder and second-ranked, recorded three straight pins in just 1:06, 0:56 and 1:05 to cruise to the title. In the semifinals, Jordan earned an 8-1 decision over Alex Lopouchansck of Air Force before securing a 14-5 major decision victory against Gardner-Webb’s Tyler Marinelli to take home the title. He collected the second-most falls in the tournament with his three falls in 3:07. Jordan also had the most team points of any wrestler in the tournament with a total of 25 points.

Graham graduate and 133-pounder Eli Stickley finished in sixth place. After losing in the quarterfinals to Jamal Harris of North Carolina State, Stickley rebounded by picking up a sudden victory triumph of his own over Virginia’s Micky Phillippi with a 5-2 decision. In the fifth-place match, Stickley suffered a 3-2 loss by decision against American’s Esteban Gomez-Rivera.

WL-S girls win in bowling

WL-S defeated Southeastern, 1766-1641, in OHC girls bowling.

For the Tigers, Erica McCall had a 203-142-345 series, Hailee Clifford had a 153-138-291 series, Sarah Daulton a 134, Ashlyn Parks a 129 and Lauren Hostetler a 124.
