Mechanicsburg girls down Triad, 61-48

Elly Schipfer had a game-high 28 points as Mechanicsburg defeated Triad, 61-48, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

Triad drops to 1-5, 1-4 while Mechanicsburg improves to 2-4, 1-3.

For the Indians, Sydney Hux had 12 points and Mikayla Dodane added 11.

For the Cardinals, Alea Ferguson had 15 points and Jenna Ober added 11.

There was no jayvee game.

UHS tops Bellefontaine

Urbana knocked off winless Bellefontaine, 63-53, in CBC girls basketball on Saturday.

The Hillclimbers are now 3-4, 1-2.

Graham falls to Tecumseh

Tecumseh beat Graham, 77-32, in CBC non-divisional girls basketball on Saturday.

For the Falcons, Bethany Horner had 14 points, Sarah Henry had 8 points and Kari Smith added 11 rebounds.

Tecumseh won the jayvee game, 46-13.

Madi Vanscoy had 6 points for Graham.

WL-S downs Central

West Liberty-Salem routed Springfield Catholic Central, 60-17, in OHC girls basketball on Saturday.

The Tigers led, 39-2, at the half.

Taylor Lauck had a team-high 10 points for WL-S (5-1, 5-0).

Central had 28 turnovers in the contest.

There was no jayvee game.

Triad boys win

WAYNESFIELD – Ryan Boyd scored 26 points as Triad beat Waynesfield-Goshen, 59-45, on Saturday in non-league boys basketball.

The Cardinals led the contest, 34-27, at the half.

Junior high basketball

Urbana’s 7th grade girls lost to London, 55-4.

Urbana’s 8th graders lost, 69-8.

Graham’s 7th grade girls beat Indian Lake, 14-11. For Graham, Lexi King had 5 points and Michaela Whaley had 4.

The Urbana 7th grade boys lost to London, 46-23. Nolan Smith had 13 points for Urbana (0-4).

The Urbana 8th grade boys won, 65-35. For UJHS (2-2), Isaiah Fonseca had 23 points and 7 rebounds and Grant Hower had 18 points and 9 rebounds.
