BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. – Urbana University’s Mikaela Beck has been tabbed the Mountain East Conference Volleyball Co-Player of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon by the league office. Beck shares the weekly honor with Wheeling Jesuit’s Haley Kindall.

Beck, who is a native of Detroit, Michigan, led UU to three wins last week and helped the Blue Knights extend their win streak to five matches. The 5-foot-10 outside hitter totaled a team-high 53 kills while averaging 4.4 per set against Central State, Lake Erie and West Virginia State. She also led the Blue Knights in digs with 1.8 per set.

Beck recorded a career-high 24 kills (.447) in UU’s 3-1 triumph over Lake Erie last Tuesday and wrapped up the week with her 10th double-double against the Yellow Jackets on Friday.

In her first season suiting up for the Blue and Grey, Beck has enjoyed great success as she currently ranks third in the conference in kills (3.56/set).

Urbana hosted Central State Tuesday night before hosting the final two home matches on Friday and Saturday.
