SPRINGFIELD – Shawnee defeated Urbana, 52-44, Wednesday night in CBC girls basketball.

For the Hillclimbers (1-3), Hunter Rogan had 24 points and 13 rebounds and Katy Curnutte added 20 points.

Shawnee’s jayvees won, 62-17.

Rachel Pickering and Alaina Lyons each had five points for Urbana.

The Hillclimbers play Indian Lake on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Northwestern.

UHS boys win in bowling

The Urbana boys bowling team beat Bellefontaine, 2,570-2,353, in CBC action.

For the Hillclimbers (1-0), Luc Russell had a 206-214, Kyle Beavers a 189, Skyler Reisinger a 184 and Blaine Arms a 182.

The Urbana jayvee boys won, 2,302-1,978.

The UHS girls lost, 2,152-1,866.

Olivia Krieger had a 168 for Urbana.

WL-S girls fall

The West Liberty-Salem girls bowling team lost to Calvary Christian, 1,759-1,418.

For the Tigers, Jillian Kirkham had an 89, Ashlyn Parks an 82, Hailey Duncan a 67, Sarah Dalton a 96, Rachel Larson a 97, Erica McCall a 107, Taylor Loverde a 117-87-204 series and Hailee Clifford a 125-110-235 series.

Jayvee basketball

The Tecumseh jayvee girls defeated West Liberty-Salem, 41-17. Kennedy Cox had 7 points and Laine Godwin and Mya King had 7 rebounds each and Maddie Estes had 6 rebounds for the Tigers.

Junior high basketball

The Triad 7th grade girls lost to Mechanicsburg, 41-39. For Triad (2-1), Frani Levan had 21 points and Cati LeVan had 14 points.

Triad’s 8th graders lost, 64-17. For Triad (1-2), Sidney Louck had 7 points and Gracie Sheets had 6 points.

Mechanicsburg stats were not reported.
