Mechanicsburg’s Romero to sign with Ohio State

Two local state championship participants have recently committed to college athletic programs.

At Mechanicsburg, standout quarterback and three-time state champion wrestler Kaleb Romero has verbally committed to the Ohio State University. Romero chose the Buckeyes over North Carolina and Cornell in a video streamed over social media this week.

Romero is projected to win his fourth OHSAA Division III state wrestling title in the winter and will join Graham High School graduates Bo Jordan and Micah Jordan at OSU.

At Triad, pitcher Shane Ford signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Mount Vernon Nazarene. Ford helped propel the Cardinals to the state championship game last spring.
