WL-S defeats Northeastern in OHC boys soccer

The West Liberty-Salem boys soccer team defeated Northeastern, 4-1, in OHC action. Scoring one goal each for the Tigers were Raiph Levan, Christian Parker, Ethan Cole and Logan Cole. Assists for WL-S came from Levan, Ethan Cole and Logan Cole. Gavin Harrison had 2 saves in goal for the Tigers.

Kenton Ridge beat Graham, 60-20, in 7th grade action.

Standouts for GJHS were Zach Burroughs, Cooper Strader, Wade Cook and Luke Whitt.

Quarterback J.C. Alexander racked up 181 yards of total offense, including a 96-yard touchdown run and a 28-yard touchdown pass to Kohl Eggleston, to lead Triad to its first win of the season, 32-0, over Springfield Catholic Central. Hayden Simpson scampered 65 yards for a score on the game’s first play. Also scoring for Triad was H back Coleman Hauck on a 7-yard run. Simpson also ran in 2 extra point conversions; other conversions were made by Hauck and Isaiah Leasure.

WL-S defeated Northeastern, 14-0.

Nick Burden had a 3-yard touchdown run in the first half and a 2-yard TD run in the second half. Jace Wade added to the scoring with a 2-point conversion run.

Austin VanHoose and Jake Wilcoxon each had key interceptions to help lead the defense, while Cooper Havens and Cam Strapp both had a sack to help guide the defense to a shutout.
