Pigskin Picks

After going 5-0 in our high school picks last Friday night, we were feeling pretty good about our chances of another perfect week.

But then UU had to go and beat Concord on Saturday, which crushed our dreams.

Oh well, a 5-1 week is still pretty good, and we’re happy with our overall mark of 21-2 for the season so far.

Tonight’s Games

Indian Lake (4-0) at Urbana (1-3) – Since rallying to beat London in the season-opener, things have not gone well for the Hillclimbers.

And things probably aren’t going to get any better with high-flying Indian Lake coming to town.

We’re going with the Lakers to prevail.

Mechanicsburg (4-0) at Triad (0-4) – Mechanicsburg just keeps cruising along towards a likely 10-0 regular season.

Triad, on the other hand, is not cruising along.

We’re picking Mechanicsburg to win.

Greeneview (3-1) at WL-S (2-2) – This one is probably the game of the night.

The Tigers have won two straight games after starting the season 0-2. Greeneview is 3-0 since starting the season 0-1.

In other words, this will likely be a close one.

We’re going with Greeneview to prevail in a thriller.

Graham (0-4) at Kenton Ridge (2-2) The Falcons have played a brutal schedule so far.

It gets a bit easier tonight, but Kenton Ridge is usually a tough customer no matter what its record may indicate.

We’re picking the Cougars to win.

Saturday’s Game

West Liberty U. (0-3) at Urbana U. (1-2) – The Blue Knights pulled out a nice victory at Concord last week, and this matchup with West Liberty also appears to be winnable.

WLU has lost back-to-back one-point games, so its winless record is a bit deceiving.

We’re going with UU to prevail, although it could be very close.
