Indians rated third in prep playoff poll

In the latest prep football computer playoff poll, Mechanicsburg (4-0) is rated third in Division VI, Region 24.

West Liberty-Salem (2-2) is tied for 10th in the same region.

The top eight schools in each region advance to the playoffs and the top four will host a first-round game.

JH cross country

Urbana competed at the Graham Invitational, with the middle school girls finishing third.

Erika Arnett (5th, 13:34), Paige Deere (8th, 13:56), Makenna Radford (17th, 14:42), Grace Hepp (28th, 15:15) and Sam Rooney (30th, 15:25) all ran.

JH football

Graham beat Bellefontaine, 28-20, in 7th grade action. Evan Lykins, Dawson Cohn and Tyler Dowty were standouts for GJHS.

WL-S seeks coach

Postal Open

The Postal Open is Oct. 10 at Urbana Country Club with a 10:30 a.m. start time. Lunch will be served at the Urbana VFW after the round. The tournament is two-person best ball with a $50 entry fee. Call (937) 215-4452 for more information.

Myers aces

Dick Myers recorded a hole-in-one at Locust Hills Golf Club on the par 3 7th hole.
