Super Late Models at Shady Bowl Speedway

DeGRAFF – Shady Bowl Speedway will play host to the premier super late model series on Saturday when the Main Event Racing Series (MERS) makes its annual stop. They will be running in a 100-lap feature. It will also be Kids Night.

The Penny Scramble and Big Wheel races that were rained out last week will take place. The Tuners, Compacts and Pure Stocks will also be competing in the final points event for 2016 with champions being crowned after their features. The spectator drag races will also be in action.

The current points leader for the MERS series is Edgerton driver Bud Perry. Perry, a former Shady Bowl Speedway track champion, will be seeking his third championship for the traveling series. Jeff Ganus of Michigan is also entered. Ganus won this event last year and went on to claim the series crown. Local drivers Brian Reeser, Brad Coons, Jerry Stapleton, Jesse Gade and Jacob Muncy have filed entries. Josh Smith of Quincy is also entered. Smith, also a former Bowl champion has a MERS feature win to his credit. Racing will start at 7 p.m.
