Hillclimbers drop matches in boys golf

Urbana shot 201, Shawnee 164 and Ben Logan 172 in a recent boys golf tri-match. Juniors Taylor Armstrong and Cole Headlee led UHS with scores of 48 and 49.

Urbana lost to Riverside, 184-187. For UHS, Ethan Headlee had a 42, Armstrong a 47 and Cole Headlee a 49.

Urbana lost to Bellefontaine, 168-199.

For UHS, Reid Taylor had a 48 and Brandon Ebert a 49.

Triad 2nd in tri-match

Triad shot a 189, Southeastern a 171 and London a 199 in a boys golf tri-match on Wednesday.

For Triad (1-5, 0-4), Caleb Young had a 39, Creighton Bradley a 49, Alec Ober a 50 and Braxton Perry a 51.

Triad plays WL-S today at Woodland.

Tigers fall in volleyball

WL-S lost to Ben Logan, 25-9, 25-15, 25-14, in non-league volleyball.

For the Tigers, Tory Cordell had 4 kills, 2 blocks and 8 digs, Kaylee Harrison had 3 kills and 1 block, Alex Burton had 3 kills, Olivia Ames had 6 digs and was 20/23 on serve receive and Hallie Strapp was 5/5 serving and had 4 digs.

Ben Logan won the jayvee match, 25- 14, 25-20.

For the Tigers, Abby Dillon had 13 digs, Arrah Sandy led the team in assists and was 15/15 setting and Jaelen Meeker had 2 kills.

Ben Logan won the freshman match, 25-16, 25-23.

For WL-S, Cierra Brown had 3 aces, Kennah Erwin had 2 kills and Anna Kauffman led the team in digs.

Ben Logan Invitational

Both Urbana and Triad competed at the Benjamin Logan Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday.

For Urbana, Alec Freeman was 37th and Hudson Stouffer was 41st.

For Triad, Holly Cole finished third in 22:41 and Alea Ferguson finished eighth in 23:21. Sandi Alspaugh finished in 27th and Summer Doty was 40th. For the boys, Eli O’Brien was 23rd (20:45) and Kaiden Forrer was 24th (20:48).
