Cardinals off to up and down start in golf

Triad defeated Mechanicsburg 228-266 in OHC girls golf on Wednesday.

For the Cardinals, Macy Linscott had a 48, Jess Woodard had a 53, Kayleigh Boldman had a 62, Jen Pelfrey had a 65 and Kali Smith shot a 70.

Returning sophomore Dodie Howells led M’burg with a 63. Returning junior Ashley Bumgardner had a 66, freshman Kerrigan Cushman had a 68, freshman Madison Boggs had a 69, returning senior Harley Ferguson had a 71 and freshman Skyler Campbell had a 71.

Mechanicsburg plays at London on Thursday with Madison Plains.

In Tuesday action, Triad boys golf (0-1 OHC) lost to Cedarville in OHC golf at Woodland, 182-184. Triad was led by Alec Ober’s 39, Creighton Bradley’s 47, Austin Deere’s 48 and Derek Bruce’s 50.

For Cedarville, Noah Myers won match medalist with a 37.

Triad girls golf lost to Fairbanks in OHC golf at Woodland 183-245. Triad was led by Macy Linscott’s 50, Jess Woodard’s 63, Kayleigh Boldman’s 65 and Jen Pelfrey’s 67.

Soccer games moved

The WL-S vs. Urbana boys soccer game scheduled for Aug. 23 at WL-S has been moved to Urbana High School. Game time is 6 p.m.

The WL-S vs. Springfield Shawnee boys soccer game scheduled for Aug. 25 at WL-S has been moved to Springfield Shawnee.
