Racers to go ‘topless’ at Shady Bowl

DeGRAFF – Shady Bowl Speedway will host its final race of the 2015 season on Saturday.

It will be “Run Whatcha Brung Night.” The only rules to be enforced will be safety related.

In years past most drivers have removed or cut off the tops and added huge side panels.

The late models and modifieds will be combined and will run together.

The feature will be a 50-lap main with $1,500 to win. Mike Carroll of Kettering won the event last year and is expected to be on hand to defend his win.

The street stocks and compacts will also be a “Run Watcha Brung” affair. The street stocks will compete in a 35-lap main with $700 awaiting the winner. The compact event will be a 30-lapper with $300 to the top finisher.

Pit gates will open at 3 p.m. with grandstand gates opening at 4 p.m. Racing will begin at 6 p.m.
