M’burg tops WL-S in boys golf

Mechanicsburg defeated West Liberty-Salem 166-185 in OHC boys golf Monday.

Caleb Westfall led the Indians with a 35 and earned medalist honors. Mack Cushman shot 39, Corey Bogan had a 42, Jack Shoemaker shot 50, Austin Wolfe had a 50 and Cody Minor carded a 51.

For the Tigers (4-10), Dillon Callicoat had a 39, Max Eggleston a 41, Michael Frederick a 50 and Tyler Gardner a 55.

M’burg girls fall

MECHANICSBURG – Northeastern beat Mechanicburg, 204-257, in OHC girls golf.

For the Indians, Sheena Payne had a 53, Ashley Bumgardner a 61, Dodie Howells a 69, Harley Ferguson a 79 and Bridget Sigmon a 74.

WL-S wins in volleyball

WL-S defeated Greeneview, 25-17, 25-12, 25-11, in OHC volleyball.

For the Tigers (8-2), Jamie Peterson had 11 ace serves, 19 kills and 3 total blocks, Kylie Gilroy had 4 ace serves and 29 assists, Olivia Ames had 11 digs and Tory Cordell had 7 kills.

The WL-S jayvees won, 25-17, 25-22. Olivia Milliron had 6 ace serves, Tyanna Seibert had 5 kills and 4 assists, Hallie Strapp had 4 kills and 5 assists and Abby Dillon had 6 digs for the Tigers (8-2).

Hillclimbers fall in volleyball

Miami East defeated Urbana 25-10, 25-20, 25-7 in non-league volleyball.

Hunter Rogan had 8 kills, Kaelyn Bertsch had 5 kills, Mackenzee Martin had 4 kills and Olivia Dunham had 10 assists for UHS.

The Urbana junior varsity won 25-12, 19-25, 25-23. Taylor Adams had 14 assists and Megan Ridder had 9 kills and 6 blocks for UHS.

The Urbana freshmen lost to Shawnee.

Urbana plays today at Ben Logan.

Mechanicsburg wins

Mechanicsburg beat Northeastern, 20-25, 15-25, 25-17, 25-20, 15-11, in OHC volleyball.

Mechanicsburg is now 7-3, 5-2.

Triad falls to Cedarville

Triad lost to Cedarville, 25-21, 21-25, 16-25, 27-25, 15-11, in OHC volleyball

For the Cardinals, Sydney Propst had 28 digs, Brianna Eaton had 6 kills and 4 blocks, Madison Dolby had 11 kills and 16 assists and Allyssa Eaton added 9 kills and 8 blocks,

Triad (3-9, 2-5) hosts Southeastern on Thursday.

Triad’s jayvees won, 25-10, 25-18. For Triad (4-6, 4-3), Kayleigh Rice had 7 points and 8 digs, Jennifer Sizemore had 22 points which included 5 aces, 6 kills, 7 assists and 6 digs and Tori Thomas added 5 kills.

Tipp topples Graham in soccer

Graham lost to Tipp, 9-2, in CBC boys soccer.

GHS’s goals were scored by Brady Oder and Josh Herrmann both assisted by Hunter Kauffman.

Graham’s girls soccer team lost to Tipp, 4-0.

Graham is now 3-4-1 overall.

Jayvee cross country

For the WL-S junior varsity boys cross country team at the Graham Invitational, Konner Smith was 30th in 20:33.34, Bryan Woods was 54th in 21:33.76, Zavier Esch was 65th in 22:21.66, James Loffing was 66th in 22:21.74 and Kannon Stillings was 80th in 24:06.65.

Junior high volleyball

The 7th grade West Liberty-Salem Tigers beat South Vienna in two sets, 25-16, 25-19. Olivia Muirhead and Kayleigh Wilcox had 5 aces each and Emily Bolton added three good serve receptions.

The 8th grade also beat South Vienna in two sets, 25-14, 25-17. Alex Burton had 6 kills while Kaylah Erwin had 3 aces.
