Pigskin Picks

0

Boy, this prognosticating thing hasn’t gone too well so far this season.

We went a sorry 3-3 in our picks last week and stand at 10-7 for the season.

Our misses included Urbana over Bellefontaine in 2 OTs, WL-S over Kenton Ridge and UU over West Virginia State.

Hopefully, we can get back on track this week.

Tonight’s Games

Urbana (1-2) at Stebbins (3-0) – The Hillclimbers out-lasted winless Bellefontaine, 6-0, in double-OT last week to give Jon Daniels his first victory as UHS coach.

Stebbins, however, should be a lot tougher opponent than Bellefontaine, so we’re going with Stebbins to prevail.

WL-S (2-1) at Northeastern (0-3) – The Tigers played a good game in a 21-12 win at previously-unbeaten Kenton Ridge last week, and WL-S will venture back into the Northeastern school district this week.

Northeastern is no Kenton Ridge, so we’re picking WL-S to win.

Mechanicsburg (3-0) at Cedarville (1-2) – Cedarville has given up 96 points in its two losses, which doesn’t bode well for the home Indians tonight.

We’re going with the Indians from Mechanicsburg to prevail in this one.

Greeneview (2-1) at Triad (1-2) – This is probably the game of the night.

Trent McIntyre had a huge game for Triad in its win over Fairbanks last week, and he’ll need another great performance against the Rams tonight.

We’re picking Greeneview to win, but it could be very close.

Graham (1-2) at Tecumseh (1-2) – This one looks like another good matchup tonight.

The Falcons have played pretty well the past two weeks in a win over Catholic Central and a close loss to Lehman.

Tecumseh, meanwhile, is not the Tecumseh we’re used to seeing, so this one could go down to the proverbial wire.

We’re going with Tecumseh to prevail by a hair, but it really could go either way.

Saturday’s Game

Concord (1-1) at Urbana U. (1-1) – The Blue Knights really showed us something by winning, 30-23, at West Virginia State last week.

Concord, on the other hand, is supposed to be one of the top teams in the MEC this season, so we’ll pick the visitors to win in what could be a close one.
