Urbana girls play to 1-1 tie in soccer

Urbana and Bellefontaine played to a 1-1 tie Wednesday night in CBC girls soccer.

UHS’s goal was scored by Cassidy James at 28:23 in the 2nd half assisted by Madyson Horn and Magdaline Perry.

The halftime score was 0-0.

“Our girls played great tonight only allowing Bellefontaine to have 4 shots,” said Urbana Coach Brandon Deskins. “I’m very proud of the team’s hard work and continued effort throughout the game.”

Graham wins in volleyball

Graham defeated Bellefontaine, 25-10, 25-4, 25-16, in CBC volleyball.

For the Falcons, Carly Carafa had 15 kills, Lisa DeWeese had 13 kills and Katie Milligan had 10 kills.

Graham (8-2, 3-0) plays on Thursday at Ben Logan.

WL-S loses in golf

WL-S fell to Northeastern, 166-177, in OHC boys golf.

For the Tigers (3-11), Dillon Callicoat had a 37, Max Eggleston a 43, Michael Frederick a 47, Tyler Gardner a 50, Tylar Jett a 54 and Bryce Ward a 63.

M’burg golfers win

Mechanicsburg beat Cedarville, 169-204, in OHC boys golf.

For the Indians (10-7, 4-7), Caleb Westfall was medalist with a 36, Corey Bogan had a 45, Mack Cushman a 45, Cody Minor a 43, Jack Shoemaker a 47 and Austin Wolfe a 46.

Graham cross country

The Graham boys cross country team finished 14th in the team race at the recent Mason Invitational. Carter Callison finished in 13th place with a time if 17:57. The Graham girls finished in 14th place led by Sarah Henry who finished in 54th place with a time of 23:17.

Junior high football

The WL-S 7th graders defeated Fort Loramie, 24-14.

Nick Burden rushed for 3 touchdowns while Isaiah McGill had 1 rushing TD for the Tigers (2-0).

Kaden Burk helped lead the WL-S defense with a sack.

Graham’s 8th graders beat Northwestern, 28-7.

Youth fun run

Eighty four local runners participated in the West Liberty-Salem Elementary Fun Run at the Ohio Caverns. The .85 mile course was open to all runners grades PreK-6th.

The top 5 boys were 1st Dylan Lauck 5:21, 2nd Grant Comer 5:43, 3rd Isaac Ruggien 5:48, 4th Owen Johnson 5:59, 5th Jack Bahan 6:03.

The top 5 girls were 1st Megan Adams 5:23, 2nd Mandilyn Weaver 6:01, 3rd Hallie Smith 6:15.4, 4th Lilly Weaver 6:15.9, 5th Claire Longshore 6:20.
