Triad downs Fairbanks


MILFORD CENTER – Triad broke a season-opening two-game losing streak by beating winless Fairbanks, 45-21, Friday night in non-league football.

Quarterback Trent McIntyre rushed for 213 yards and passed for 228 as Triad rolled up 434 total yards while holding the Panthers to 170.

McIntyre passed for four TDs and ran for two. Alec Saunders had two touchdown receptions for Triad.

The Cardinals had leads of 25-14 and 31-14 in the first half before Fairbanks rallied to cut the deficit to 31-21 at halftime.

Triad went ahead 45-21 early in the third quarter.

Triad hosts Greeneview next Friday night in OHC action.
