COLUMBUS – The Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced the football divisions, playoff regions, statewide composite schedules and additional information for the 714 schools that will compete this fall around Ohio.

Practice begins Aug. 1 and regular-season games begin the week of Aug. 24. The regular-season ends Saturday, Oct. 31, with 224 playoff spots – 32 in each of seven divisions – awarded on Sunday, Nov. 1.

The state championships return to Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Dec. 3, 4 and 5.

Graham and Urbana will both be in Division IV, Region 12. Graham drops from Division III last season.

West Liberty-Salem, Mechanicsburg and Triad will all be in Division VI, Region 22. Triad moves up from Division VII last season.

Youth sports

In 8U softball, Bet-R-Buy Auto Sales beat Shirtstop, 17-2, Tuesday night. Outstanding players for Bet-R-Buy were Jalani Davis and Aaliyah Chamberlain. Outstanding players for Shirtstop were Lauren Byrd and Leigha Cox.
