Triad falls in volleyball; Urbana wins

Fairbanks defeated Triad, 25-14, 25-19, 25-20, in non-league volleyball Tuesday night.

Madison Dolby had 4 blocks and 6 kills for the Cardinals, Allyssa Eaton had 5 blocks and Jenna Ober recorded 19 digs.

Triad (0-1) will play in a tri-match Saturday at Benjamin Logan.

Urbana tops Xenia

Urbana defeated Xenia, 25-18, 25-18, 25-17, in varsity volleyball on Tuesday.

Macy Pierce and Olivia Dunham each had 14 assists, Hunter Rogan had 9 kills, Mckenzee Martin had 8 kills and Kaelyn Bertsch had 6 kills for UHS.

In junior varsity, Urbana won, 25-14, 25-18.

In the freshman contest, Urbana prevailed, 25-5, 25-7.

Tiana Johnson had 5 aces, Mackenzie Bean had 8 aces and Jayda Scott had 3 kills for UHS.

UHS falls in girls tennis

Urbana lost to Shawnee, 4-1, in CBC girls tennis.

At first singles, Urbana’s Haylee Johns won, 6-2, 6-3.

At second singles, Morgan Lattimer lost, 7-5, 6-4.

At first doubles, Bri Ussher and Katie Asper fell, 2-6, 6-2, 6-1.

“Haylee played an all-around great match against a tough opponent and overall it was solid competition with many close games,” said Urbana Coach Megan Michael.

WL-S golf wins

In WL-S’s 173-174 win over Mechanicsburg in OHC boys golf on Monday, Dillon Callicoat had a 36 for the Tigers, Max Eggleston a 37, Michael Frederick a 47 and Tyler Jett a 53.
