Urbana defeats Tippecanoe in CBC boys tennis

Urbana blanked Tipp City, 5-0, in CBC boys tennis on Wednesday.

The Hillclimbers as a team lost only one set in the match, and that one went to a tiebreaker.

UHS is now 10-0 overall and 5-0 in the CBC.

Triad softball wins

SOUTH CHARLESTON – Triad scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to beat Southeastern, 6-4, in OHC softball on Wednesday.

For the Cardinals (12-6, 8-2), Maddi Collier earned the win, Abby Ehrenborg was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double and Madison Dolby, Jenna Ober and Ali Dixon were each 2 for 4.

WL-S softball falls

SPRINGFIELD – Northeastern rallied to beat WL-S, 4-2, in OHC softball on Wednesday.

For the Tigers, Kelsey Day took the loss and Kylie Gilroy, Dierdre McGill, Mady Stratton and Emily Schultz each had a hit.

The Tiger jayvees beat Northeastern, 19-2. Laura Neer recorded the win and Maddie Estes had 3 hits. Abby Dillon, Olivia Milliron and Laine Godwin added 2 hits each for WL-S.

UHS baseball loses

Visiting Shawnee blanked Urbana, 9-0, in CBC baseball on Wednesday.

WL-S baseball falls

SPRINGFIELD – West Liberty-Salem lost a heartbreaker in the bottom of the 7th inning, 5-4, to Northeastern on Wednesday in OHC baseball.

Tyler Louden suffered the loss, scattering 5 hits over 6 innings and striking out 8 batters. Thomas Allen led the Tigers with 3 RBI. Dusty Moell was 2 for 2 with 4 stolen bases and Chase Humphrey was 2 for 3. The Tigers (9-8, 6-5) could not hold the lead in yet another contest, committing 4 errors that led to 2 unearned runs which led to their downfall.

WL-S beat Indian Lake, 18-10, in jayvee baseball.

Jacob Vanhorn earned the win, Garrett Predmore was 4 for 5 with 6 RBI, Tyler Gardner was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI and Tyler Motzko was 3 for 5 with a double.

WL-S’s jayvees lost to Northeastern, 8-7.

Tyler Jones, Vanhorn and Cayden Whitman each went 2 for 4, Workman was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and Ian Clark had a double and 2 RBI.

Graham jayvees win

The Graham jayvee softball team defeated Ben Logan, 2-1. Standouts for the Falcons were Madi Vanscoy (2 for 3), Liv Vanhoose (2 for 3) and Alexis Neeld (1 for 3).

Vanhoose picked up the win for the Falcons (14-3) with 7 strikeouts.
