Falcons sweep Benjamin Logan

Graham defeated Benjamin Logan, 8-6, in CBC/MRD baseball on Monday.

Graham held an 8-0 lead before the Raiders scratched across all six of their runs in the top of the 7th inning.

Will Wells was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI, Tyler Powell was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI and Allen St. Myers was 1 for 2 with an RBI for the Falcons.

Graham plays at Benjamin Logan today.

Graham softball wins

Graham defeated Benjamin Logan, 11-1, in six innings of CBC/MRD softball on Monday.

For GHS, Melany Robbins was 2 for 4, Mallory Roberts was 2 for 4 with an RBI, Allie Neeld was 2 for 4 with a double and a three-run homer and Mackenzie Smith was 1 for 3 with a double. Marley Brandyberry was 2 for 4 with a pair of doubles and 3 RBI, including a walk-off two-RBI shot.

Graham (12-3, 10-1 CBC) plays at Benjamin Logan today.

Cardinals narrowly win

Triad defeated Cedarville, 2-1, in OHC baseball on Monday.

The Cardinals scored both runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to pull out the win.

For Triad, Dalton Holycross struck out 12 batters in five-plus innings of work.

Triad (14-4) is at Southeastern today.

Cardinals softball prevails

Triad beat Cedarville, 9-0, in OHC softball on Monday.

For THS, Abby Ehrenborg was 2 for 3 with a double, Brianna Eaton was 2 for 3 and Shelby Sheets was 2 for 3 with a double.

Triad (11-6, 7-2 OHC) plays at Southeastern today.

Tiger baseball wins

West Liberty-Salem defeated Greeneview, 12-2, in OHC baseball on Monday.

Dominic Smith allowed one earned run in six innings of work on the mound and also reached base three times, including a triple.

Thomas Allen had 2 RBI, Bryce Jones had 2 RBI and Tyler Louden had an RBI.

WL-S (9-7, 6-4 OHC) plays at Northeastern today.

Tiger softball wins

West Liberty-Salem defeated Greeneview, 16-0, in five innings of OHC softball on Monday.

For WL-S, Kelsey Day was 2 for 3 with a double, a home run and 4 RBI, Kenedie Cox was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI and 3 steals, Kylie Gilroy was 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Mady Stratton was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and an RBI.

Urbana falls at home

Northwestern defeated Urbana, 18-5, in CBC/MRD baseball on Monday.

Caleb Peterson was 1 for 3 with a pair of RBI for the Hillclimbers, Kaleb Bowdle was 1 for 3 with an RBI and Skyler Reisinger was 1 for 2 with an RBI. Trenton Dunham and Logan Rooney were each 2 for 3.

Indians baseball wins

Mechanicsburg’s Corey Bogan got the win and went 2 for 4 at the plate with a double and 2 RBI in a win over Catholic Central on Monday. Joey Butsch was 2 for 3 with an RBI, Logan Hartman was 2 for 2 with 2 RBI and Caleb Newsome was 3 for 3 with a double and 2 RBI.

Mechanicsburg (13-4, 6-4 OHC) plays at Cedarville today.

Indians’ softball wins

Mechanicsburg beat Catholic Central in OHC softball on Monday.

Elysha Stapleton was 3 for 3 with a double and 3 RBI, Miranda Lauchard had a double and an RBI, Jessica Maddux had an RBI and Macy Powell was 2 for 2 for the Indians.

On Saturday, MHS lost to Fort Loramie 3-2 in 8 innings and then beat Tri-Village.

M’burg (9-6) plays at Cedarville today.

Tiger jayvees lose

Greeneview beat West Liberty-Salem, 8-7, in jayvee baseball.

For WL-S, Ian Clark had 3 RBI.

UHS tennis prevails

Urbana defeated Xenia Christian, 4-1, in non-league boys tennis on Monday.

UHS’s lone loss came at second singles.

Urbana is now 9-0 overall.

WL-S girls place 6th

The West Liberty-Salem girls track and field team placed 6th out of 13 teams at the Milton-Union Bulldog Classic on Saturday.

Senior Caylee Karg led the Tigers with 3rd place finishes in the 100-meter hurdles (17.23) and 300-meter hurdles (48.77). Also placing third was the 4×800 relay of Reghan Bieleski, Kaylee Harrison, Leah Cole and Katie Hartsel (10:28.79).

Junior high track

The WL-S junior high girls track team won the Chieftain Invitational.

Camrin Rice won the long jump and the 100-meter hurdles with school records.

Also winning were Alex Burton (100), Grace Adams (1,600), Kambree Cox (shot put), Savannah Weaver (high jump), Megan Dillon (pole vault), the 4×100 team, the 4×200 team and the 4×400 team.

Kate Stapleton broke the school record in the 400, but finished second.
