WL-S girls win quad track meet at Greeneview

JAMESTOWN – West Liberty-Salem’s girls track team won a quad meet at Greeneview on Tuesday with 126 points. Greeneview was second with 56 points.

The Tigers had a plethora of first-place finishers, including Caylee Karg (100 hurdles, 17.46; 300H, 49.80), Morgan Freyhof (100, 12.56), Leah Cole (400, 1:04.70), Reghan Bieleski (800, 2:30.10), Janie Kopus (200, 28.40; high jump, 4-06), Sarah Painter (3,200, 14:37), Jenna Magnuson (shot put, 27-03) and Kaylee Harrison (long jump, 13-08).

The WL-S relay teams all took first place as well. The 4×800 team of Bieleski, Harrison, Cole and Katie Hartsel finished in 10:39.02; the 4×200 team of Karg, Freyhof, Taylor Lauck and Kopus finished in 1:52.30; the 4×100 team of Lauck, Addy Johnson, Paige Shafer and Rachel McGill finished in 56.15 and the 4×400 team of Karg, Cole, Freyhof and Kopus finished in 4:23.10.

The Tiger boys’ track and field team finished third, behind Cedarville and Greeneview.

Earning first for the Tigers were Brandon Wolfe (long jump), Joey Adams (1,600, 3,200) and the 4×800 relay team.

The Tigers compete at Tipp City on Saturday.
