Jo Marenberg’s letter to the Urbana Daily Citizen (Oct. 24) in support of Janet Garrett for the Fourth Congressional district representative raises two issues. First, civility: Jim Jordan is always kind while the Garrett billboard on Rte. 29 shows him, most uncivilly, as a cartoon character.

Second, abortion: Democratic candidates are not free to oppose abortion. Though Ohio had 20,893 abortions in 2017, according to Ohio Right to Life, the Garrett yard signs say “People over Politics.” If the Democratic party included the unborn among people, those signs would read “Politics over People.”
