I have had the honor of knowing Jim Arter for 21 years: first as my 7th grade teacher, then as a board member while teaching at UJHS, and finally as a colleague, mentor, and friend for his final years as a fixture at South Vienna Middle School. His passion for education is as contagious as it is unmatched, as evidenced by the many I know that have attempted to follow his lead, myself included. Plainly stated, you will not find a candidate for school board that is better equipped or disposed to lead Urbana City Schools in that capacity. Vote for Jim Arter.
