Historical Society Museum houses county’s DNA

An ongoing television promotion claims that DNA can determine ancestry. If so, the Champaign County Historical Society Museum overflows with county’s DNA. Thousands of artifacts, documents and photographs detail geographical origins, physical and intellectual characteristics, cultural skills and traditions and the sacrificial struggle that shaped our county. A yes vote for the Historical Society’s 0.30-mill levy November 7 will continue the collection, protection and sharing of this priceless “DNA.” It will fund a full-time museum director, expand viewing hours and offer enlightening, entertaining presentations for all ages; lest we forget what it takes to be an American.
