In today’s society it is hard to find teens that pay it forward.

My two granddaughters and one grandson entered a contest at the Hoopla Parade on Saturday. My grandchildren were giving it their all, but there was one young man who did take home the prize. My grandchildren who participated really tried hard to win.

As we were walking away giving them their praises of trying their best, the young man that actually won came up and gave his prize to my grandchildren.

As grandparents we were taken by surprise that he would do that and told him it was not necessary, that they did not win. His response was that he was taught to pay it forward.

Congratulations parents on a job well done! Thanks again young man for your random act of kindness. This made their day.
