Life Chain held on Oct. 1

0

On Sunday, Oct. 1, Champaign County Right to Life held its annual Life Chain on Monument Square, this being a national witness to all of the local unborn infants aborted since 1973 (the year abortion became legal). Over 50 people gathered, including Pastors Grant Cordell (Freewill Baptist), Dan Hunt and Matt Lee (St. Mary’s), Larry Gearhart (St. Teresa, Springfield), Wayne Taylor (New Life Christian), and Brian Wonn (First Baptist). Participants came from 12 churches in Champaign and Clark counties and from the Knights of Columbus hall.

The annual toll of children lost to abortion in our county is between 34 and 38, but since excellent support for new mothers exists at Sycamore House and at Champaign Co. RTL, there is no need for abortion. In fact, our community can benefit educationally and economically from saving these precious lives.
