Schools and local gov’ts have Nov. 3 ballot issues

A number of issues, from school to emergency and road replacement taxes, will be on the November ballot in Champaign County.

The filing deadline for all candidates and issues for November was Wednesday.

Election Day is Nov. 3.

School issues

•Urbana City Schools seeks a renewal of its 5.9-mill, five-year current expenses operating levy.

•Mechanicsburg Exempted Village Schools seeks a renewal of its 1 percent, 10-year income tax current expenses levy.

•Northwestern Local Schools seeks a renewal of its 1-mill, five-year permanent improvement levy.

•Northwestern also seeks a substitution for an existing levy – 7.24 mills for six years to provide for the necessary requirements of the school district.

Other issues

•Adams Township seeks a renewal of its two-mill, five-year general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of roads and bridges levy.

•Johnson Township (exclusive of the village of St. Paris) seeks renewal of its one-mill, five-year general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of streets, roads and bridges levy.

•Johnson Township (exclusive of the village of St. Paris) also seeks a replacement of its one-mill, five-year general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of streets, roads and bridges levy.

•Mad River Township seeks renewal of its 1.5-mill, five-year general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of roads levy.

•Rush Township (exclusive of the villages of Woodstock and North Lewisburg) seeks renewal of its two-mill, five-year general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of roads and bridges levy.

•Salem Township (exclusive of the city of Urbana) seeks an additional 2.9-mill, five-year general construction, reconstruction, resurfacing and repair of roads levy.

•The Champaign County Library seeks a renewal of its 0.8-mill, five-year current expenses levy.

•Maple Grove Cemetery seeks a replacement of its 0.5-mill, five-year maintenance and operating levy for the cemetery.

•Northeast Champaign County Fire District seeks a replacement of its 4.5-mill, three-year fire protection and emergency ambulance service levy.

•The village of Mechanicsburg seeks an additional 2.5-mill, five-year replacement of fire and EMS emergency vehicles for provision of emergency services levy.

•The village of Mutual seeks a renewal of its 1.5-mill, five-year providing and maintaining fire apparatus, appliances, buildings or sites levy.

Liquor sales

•Jackson West precinct/Christiansburg Market seeks approval to sell beer.
