RUSH TWP. – Rush Township trustees announced the 2017 Paving Program will begin Thursday. The project consists of asphalt paving of Burton, Kauffman and McCarty roads. Daily temporary closures will be needed to accomplish this project. Local residents will be able to get to and from their properties with delays, but thru-traffic will be restricted. The work is scheduled to take up to two weeks.

The trustees planned this major road reconstruction project to address road unevenness and edge deterioration. The funding for this project is derived from gas tax, license fees and property tax revenues.

The timetable of road resurfacing was adjusted due to the longevity of sealant used in the normal chip/seal process. Trustees say the adjustment is to improve the worst and most traveled roads to make them safer.
