PAWS Animal Shelter (dog)

Have you ever seen a cuter face than mine? I’m Bingo, here at PAWS Animal Shelter, Urbana. I’m a Cattle Dog/Heeler mix boy and I am about 2 years old. I’m a little shy til’ I get to know you, but I warm up pretty fast.

I’m just sitting around waiting for you! I am a nice little guy who loves being petted and loved on. Don’t we all? Stop at PAWS and take me for a walk…… promise I’ll make your day.

PAWS Animal Shelter (cat)

Daisy came to PAWS a scared shy girl. She has come out of her shell. She loves to greet everyone who comes in to see the cats. She loves to be petted. Daisy is current on all her vaccinations and has tested negative for feline leukemia. Daisy would love for you to stop in and meet her.

Stop by Paws Animal Shelter, 1535 W. U.S. Route 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078, or call Paws at 937-653-6233. The Shelter hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-5 p.m., Saturday 12-4 p.m., Sunday and Monday-closed. You can email us at [email protected]. Visit us at www.facebook.com/paws.urbana. There are many wonderful cats, adorable kittens and fun-loving dogs at the shelter waiting for good homes. Paws Animal Shelter needs donations of Purina Kitten Chow, Purina Complete Cat Chow, Purina Dog Chow and Purina Puppy Chow. We also could use donations of bleach, laundry detergent, 39 gallon trash bags and clumping cat litter. We are a nonprofit organization that operates only by donations.

Champaign County Animal Welfare League

May we have your attention for a major, sweetness alert! Available right now at the Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) is Coco, a loving, 5-year old female Chihuahua. Coco has spent her entire life with a caring and loving family, but had to be relinquished due to family circumstances. This life of love has resulted in a lovable, little girl who just wants to sit in your lap and give gentle kisses on your nose. She was the center of attraction at the recent CRSI Health Fair, where she was held and cuddled by the many people stopping by to meet her. Coco came to us pee-pad trained and we think she could easily be trained to do her business outside with some patience and effort. She most probably would alert you to anyone approaching your door but she would settle right down when she realized they were welcome visitors. At just under 6 lbs., she is so small that she would not be able to bother a cat.

Coco, as with all Champaign County Animal Welfare League’s pets, has been heart-worm tested, fully vaccinated, wormed, and treated with flea and heart-worm prevention. We are also vaccinating all of our dogs with the H3N2 Flu Vaccine. She has been micro-chipped and comes with her 2017 dog license.

If you would like to meet Coco or any of our adoptable pets, please visit us at 3858 state Route 56, Mechanicsburg, OH 43044. We are open every day except Sunday and Tuesday and you may phone us at 937-834-5236 for our hours or check our webpage at www.champaigncoanimalwelfareleague.com. You may see a listing of our available pets at www.adoptapet.com or www.petfinder.com. Also “liking” us on Facebook, will give you a preview of our newest arrivals. We require an approved application for all adoptions. You may fill out an application in house or download an application from our webpage. Our adoption fee is $150.00 cash or check.

Be sure to mark your calendars for Saturday, November 4, to attend our low-cost, vaccine and micro-chip clinic. We will also offer the H3N2 flu vaccine to combat the dog flu that has recently invaded this area.

Are you a retired person who would enjoy volunteering in our dog and cat environment? We are in need of your knowledge and abilities acquired through a life-time of work. There are a variety of areas where we know you would fit right in. Especially, as we near the completion of our new facility, we are seeking caring and dependable volunteers who will enjoy working around our amazing animals. If you think we may be a good fit for you, please stop by our facility for a volunteer application. We will enjoy talking to you.

My name is Obadiah and I am a 4-year-old Boxer Chihuahua mix boy. Can’t you see it? My boxer shoulders and that short stout frame of mine? Do you know that I only weigh 18 pounds? Pretty fun to be a “boxer” boy with a little “chihuahua” tossed in. I am already all fixed up with my shots and neutering, so I am ready to go home with you. My person was working really long hours and had to leave me in a crate for 14 hours a day and knew that was no life for me. So here I am…ready to go to my new forever home! Won’t you please come and see me? Maybe you will even want me to be part of your family.

Please visit our website: www.barelyusedpets.com. Also, like us on Facebook at Barely Used Pets Rescue (put spaces between the words). Barely Used Pets is located at 844 Jackson Hill Road in Urbana, Ohio. You can give us a call at 937-869-8090. Our regular hours are: Open Sunday 1-4pm, Wednesday and Thursdays 11am-6pm, Fridays 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-2pm. We are closed on Monday and Tuesday. We can always use donations and they are all of those basic supplies that we use so quickly. We are in real need of lots and lots of paper towels! If you can bring us some we would surely appreciate it. Obadiah says..”Thanks so much for considering me and helping Barely Used Pets help all of us little ones find our forever homes! OK…so what are you waiting for? Let’s go home!”
