Graham awarded grant for outdoor STEM education

ST. PARIS – Graham’s students will tend “Falcon Farms” on a regular basis and learn to sustain a micro-farm business. With the help of local farm owners, and partners Old Souls Farms and the Ohio Soybean Council, Graham will implement the project, thanks to the Monsanto Fund’s Grow Future Agriculture grant.

Graham was the only Ohio school to receive this grant, chosen as best in the region from the National Agriculture Council. The one-time grant will allow for the use of in-kind services from local partners to teach middle school students about STEM career paths, the local environment and the use of Farm to Table business through a farming project.

Representatives from the Ohio Soybean Council visited Graham’s site to lend some resources to the project. Old Souls Farms, a local hydroponics site, will also lend their expertise to assist staff and students with various projects. The district will also work with several area farm owners to complete the site.
