At last count, over 17,700 farmers have completed the Fertilizer Certification in Ohio. There are likely still a few more who need to go through the training. You have until the end of September to complete the training for free. Most of the remaining programs are 3 hours or in conjunction with a field day. Those without a pesticide applicator license need to make sure they attend at least 3 hours of training.

As a reminder, this training is required if you apply fertilizer to more than 50 acres used for agricultural production grown primarily for sale. If someone else applies your fertilizer, you do not need to attend a training. There are a few exceptions so if you need clarification, call ODA at 614-728-6987 or the Extension Office at 937-484-1526 and ask for Amanda.
