MECHANICSBURG – The village held its annual Summer Celebration on Saturday.

Downtown, Goshen Memorial Park and the high school baseball diamond were hopping with activity.

After a morning parade through town, the Ohio Village Muffins vintage baseball team squared off against a team of local players at Mechanicsburg High School. Wearing period-specific uniforms, the teams kept score the old-fashioned way.

At Goshen Memorial Park, spectactors gathered on the hillside to watch the tractor and truck pull in the afternoon. Food vendors, bounce houses, games and colorful characters like “Barney Fife” enlivened the park with his Mayberry patrol car.

The evening brought fireworks under a full moon.
