WL-S earns rebates for energy efficiency

WEST LIBERTY – The West Liberty-Salem Local School announced on Wednesday that it has received the first of two DP&L Energy rebates in relation to its building project. The first rebate in the amount of $44,342 was in regards to the new energy saving lighting installation project throughout the building. The second rebate which should be received in the next few months in the estimated amount of $51,000 related to changes, updates and improvements made regarding the new heating ventilation air-conditioning (HVAC) project. The school district was able to accomplish these rebates by working together with Dayton Power and Light Energy Efficiency Programs, Ruscilli Construction Co. Inc. Roger D. Fields Associates, Inc. and OSFC/OFCC.

According to Mr. Gregory Topp, P.E., LEED-AP from Roger D. Fields, the project will be LEED Silver accredited and will use approximately 30 percent less energy than is required by the energy code. The rebate proceeds will be used to provide for additional updates, and improvements within the construction project.
