PAWS Animal Shelter (dog)

Hey, my name is Sonar. My life almost ended last month when I was on the list to be killed at another shelter. I was saved and brought to PAWS Shelter. I am a 1 1/2-year-old Terrier mix boy. I have a lot of energy and I love to run and play and my tail wags and wags when you humans stop at my kennel to see me. I take treats really nicely and the staff tells me I have very soulful eyes. I don’t know what that means but they always smile when they say it. I am very interested in the kitties, maybe I would like them, I don’t know, and I’m kind of particular about my doggie friends but I’m learning to make new friends. I am neutered and have had all my vaccinations. Please stop and see me. Maybe we can take a walk? And… just to let you know… I love ice cream! A lady comes by sometimes and takes me to the DQ for a big cup of ice cream…. I have so much fun slurping that up ….. mmmmmmm..good!! Please stop by and meet me, OK??

All of our dogs are looking for a loving home where they can be taken care of for the rest of their lives.

PAWS Animal Shelter (cat)

Meet KitKat. KitKat came to PAWS when her family had to move and could not take her with them. She is a sweet quiet girl. She was very frightened at first and would hide under her blankets when she first came to PAWS. But with the help of the staff and volunteers she is coming out of her shell. KitKat has big beautiful green eyes and is declawed. She needs a new family to love and a forever home. KitKat is current on vaccinations and tested negative for Feline Leukemia and has been spayed. KitKat would love it if you would stop in Paws Shelter in Urbana to meet her.

Stop by Paws Animal Shelter, 1535 W. U.S. Route 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078, or call Paws Animal Shelter at 937-653-6233. The Shelter hours are Tuesday-Friday 12-5 p.m., Saturday 12-4 p.m., Sunday and Monday-closed. You can email us at [email protected]. Visit us at www.facebook.com/paws.urbana. There are many wonderful cats, adorable kittens and fun-loving dogs at the shelter waiting for good homes. Paws Animal Shelter needs donations of Purina Kitten Chow, Purina Complete Cat Chow, Purina Dog Chow and Purina Puppy Chow. We also could use donations of bleach, laundry detergent and clumping cat litter. We are a nonprofit organization that operates only by donations. We do not receive any city, county or state funding. We depend on public donations and our adoption fees to run the shelter. Please consider making a donation to help fund our shelter. We are always looking for volunteers to come to the shelter and help out.

Barely Used Pets

Lookie at us. We are the Beagle Kids. Right now three of us are ready to go to our new homes and we are all girls. We are just 10 weeks old. They say we are super sweet and playful, but we just know that we went to the doggie doctor and they did this thing called “fixing” us…we also got some shots and they say we are all up to date. Don’t tell anyone, but the doggie doctor people gave us some hugs and rubbed our ears…THAT was pretty cool beans. Then we went to sleep and when we woke up, back to Barely Used Pets we went and everybody gave us some more lovin’. We are just baby girls with long fuzzy bunny ears (we LOVE it when you rub them) who want to find our own special families. They say there is nothing like the beagle howl. Well, really…there’s nothing like a Beagle Girl! That’s what WE say! Come on over and see us. We know you will fall in love. Doesn’t everybody need a beagle of their own to hug and squeeze? And you can’t resist rubbing these bunny soft ears…did we mention that’s our favorite part?

Please visit our website: www.barelyusedpets.com. Also, like us on Facebook at Barely Used Pets Rescue (put spaces between the words). Barely Used Pets is located at 844 Jackson Hill Road in Urbana, Ohio. You can give us a call at 937-869-8090. Our regular hours are: Open Sunday 1-4pm, Wednesday and Thursdays 11am-6pm, Fridays 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-2pm. We are CLOSED on Monday and Tuesday. We can always use donations and they are all of those basic supplies that we use so quickly. We are in real need of lots and lots of paper towels! If you can bring us some we would surely appreciate it. The Beagle Girls say…”Thanks so much for considering us and helping Barely Used Pets help all of us little ones find our forever homes! OK…so what are you waiting for? Let’s go home!”

Champaign County Animal Welfare League

You say you’re looking for a 4-H project or a running companion? Well, we have the dog for you! Meet Mavis, a smart, 10-month-old Border Collie/Terrier mix. She is a 23-pound, high-energy girl who loves water and is learning to run our agility course. Mavis’ previous owner passed away and the family was unable to keep her so she is waiting for her new, forever owner. She is also house-trained. Mavis is a happy, joyful girl who wants to play, play, play.

As with all Champaign County Animal Welfare League (CCAWL) pets, Mavis has been spayed, fully vaccinated, heart worm tested, treated with heart worm prevention and flea prevention. Mavis has also been micro-chipped and comes with her 2017 dog license. This lovable teddy bear is very social and loving and gets along with other dogs and cats.

If you would like to meet Mavis, please feel free to visit our facility located at 3858 state Route 56, Mechanicsburg, OH 43044. You may reach us at 937-834-5236. Energetic, water-loving Mavis was taken to the Champaign County Animal Welfare League after her owner died. Her shelter caretakers say she’s learning the agility course and would make a great 4-H project or a running companion.
