Champaign Family Flying Fish (CF3) Swim Team holds registration

0

The Champaign Family YMCA will be registering people for the Champaign Family Flying Fish (CF3) Swim Team this summer at the Urbana City Pool. The Flying Fish are members of the Miami Valley Swim Association and swim against area teams, typically on Thursday evenings, starting in June. All swimmers, age 5-18 and at all swimming levels, are invited to participate. Practices are offered in the mornings, evenings and Saturdays to accommodate multiple-sport athletes and parents’ busy schedules.

Interested swimmers should plan to attend free trial practices May 30-June 1 at 10 a.m. at the City Pool to see what the swim team is all about. A follow-up informational meeting for parents will be held at the City Pool on Sunday, June 4, at 6 p.m. to answer any questions, provide parent handbooks and introduce coaches.

The Flying Fish aim to provide each swimmer the opportunity to grow both socially and emotionally while learning the values of team sportsmanship and competition. Through the program, character traits of caring, responsibility, honesty and respect will not only be learned and practiced, but also expected of each swimmer and coach.

For more information about the CF3 Swim Team, attend Trial Week, attend the parent meeting on Sunday, June 4, or call Greg Hower, Youth Sports Director, at the YMCA at 937-653-9622.
