The Champaign County Shooting Sports would like to thank the NRA foundation inc. for a check of $6,098.54. “This money will help us greatly by allowing us get new equipment for the club,” says Ken McCabe. The money will go to a gun safe for competitive rifle and other merchandise. Also, as a reminder, button day will be June 3, 9 to noon at the Farmer’s Daughter restaurant.

The Champaign Feeders met at the North Lewisburg Church on April 23. The roll call was taken by saying our favorite holidays. We discussed project books and had a safety report by JD Knoop. Recreation was provided by Leyna Fortner and it was a scavenger hunt. The next meeting is May 21 at the NLUMC.

The Back yard Belles and Boys 4-H Club held its fourth meeting on Sunday, April 23, at the the home of Isaac Blackford. The meeting was called to order by President Oliver McGuire. Zoey Underwood led the Pledge of Allegiance, and Jackson Underwood led the 4-H Pledge. Attendance was taken, and each member present named a cut of meat. The treasurer’s was given and approved. The club voted to accept a donation in the amount of $250.00 from Honda of America, and to accept volunteers to form a committee to work on the decorating the booth in the 4-H building at the fair. Committee members are: Grady Underwood, Paige Wallace, Natalie Wallace, and Paige Chesser. Recreation leader, Grady Underwood, created a trivia game for everyone to play, and Isaac Blackford served refreshments. Zoey Underwood moved to adjourn the meeting, and Lauren Underwood seconded it. The next meeting will be held at noon on Sunday, May 21st at the home of Oliver, Avery, and Essie McGuire. Paige, Lauren, and Jackson Underwood will provide refreshments. Safety Officer, Essie McGuire, will give a presentation.

Cut Ups and Carpenters met for a formal meeting May 7. We completed a communicating and collaborating team building project and discussed ways to work as a team and think outside the box. After, we discussed more about our group service project. We are thinking about making tie baby blankets for a local hospital or organization. At the conclusion of the meeting, we enjoyed a healthy snack and enjoyed a game of Sky Ball.
