Champaign County Library offers fine-free week during National Library Week

During the week of April 10-15, any overdue item can be returned to the circulation desk or book drop at either of the Champaign County Library locations without any fines. Fines from previously overdue items or notification fees are not included. The library locations are 1060 Scioto St. in Urbana and 161 Winder St. in North Lewisburg.

All books, DVDs, CDs and other materials must be returned in good condition in order to be returned to the library’s collection for others to enjoy. So get a fresh start to begin using your library card again during National Library Week!

National Library Week occurs every year in April at libraries across the country to celebrate the importance of local libraries, which have been busier than ever. The Champaign County Library has over 26,000 cardholders and in 2016 over 270,000 items were checked out or downloaded. The library offered over 500 free programs for all ages. The library continues to offer free public computers, tech assistance, wifi access, homework help, and more, in addition to books, magazines, movies.
