Mad River Jr. Livestock had their first meeting on Feb. 22 so we could fill out our project forms before the March 1 deadline. We also elected our officers for the year: President-Ashton Arnett, Vice President-Mallory Caudill, Secretary-Ariana Spina, Treasurer-Gannon Arnett, Safety-Ashley Good, Health-Zack Burroughs.

Terre Haute Raisers met Feb. 5. In this meeting, we discussed many things. Lots of rules and reminders were given, such as: There are 7 meetings total and you must attend a minimum of 5 meetings. You must call in if you cannot attend a scheduled meeting. If you do not call in, it will not be counted as an excused absence. The Rabbit Clinic is on March 25, 2017; there will be no rabbit supplier present. The Spring Show is on May 15, 2017. The Memorial Parade is May 28, 2017. The skill-a-thon is on July 23, 2017. There are 2 work sessions for the skill-a-thon. There will be make up opportunities announced. Every rabbit shown must have a pedigree, and they cannot be a mixed breed. Everyone must take quality assurance. The Champaign County Fair is August 4-11, 2017. Rabbit showmanship is Monday August 7, 2017 in the afternoon. We have $525.62 in our club account. The 4H dog club, Muttley Crew, met on March 6. The main order of business for the evening was to discuss the club shirt design. The club voted to put a colorful dog-friendly design by Danielle Mascioni on the front of the light green shirt and Andrea Stokes’ design saluting the 4H pledge will appear on the back of the shirt along with local business sponsors. Andrea Stokes volunteered to do the health and safety presentation at the March 20 meeting at the fairgrounds.
