SPRINGFIELD – Home Instead Senior Care, an independently owned and operated company and part of an international franchise network, has opened an office in Springfield to serve Clark and Champaign County.

Owned by Jodi George, the company provides non-medical services designed to help seniors live safely in their homes. Professional CAREGivers provide companionship, home helper services, personal care and Alzheimer’s care that can help seniors remain independent. All CAREGivers are thoroughly screened, trained, bonded and insured. The new business will participate in a Chamber of Commerce-hosted ribbon cutting on Wednesday, July 8, at 11:30 a.m. at the new office at 333 Mt. Vernon Ave. in Springfield.

Formerly with Huntington Investment Company in Columbus, George said she is inspired by the culture of care that drives Home Instead Senior Care.

“Growing old doesn’t have to mean a loss of independence,” George said. “Seniors have choices now that can make the inescapable reality of aging less daunting. Aging in place is a real possibility, and I look forward to helping area seniors and their families do that.”

George said the majority of seniors polled in recent industry surveys – typically 90 percent – say they want to remain in their homes as they age. Home Instead Senior Care provides services to seniors in private or rental residences, assisted living communities and other care centers.

“The Springfield area, including Urbana, is truly a hidden gem, and I’m honored to be a part of the business community in such a personal way,” George said. “It’s my goal to help our seniors remain in their homes, surrounded by their memories, for as long as possible.”

Home Instead Senior Care is located at 333 Mt. Vernon Ave. in Springfield. For more information, call (937) 717-9654 or visit www.homeinstead.com/801.
