PAWS Animal Shelter (dog)

Hey folks, my name is Duke and I am a real lady killer here at the shelter. I’m handsome, fun and I am lovin’ the other doggies here. I’m a young Bloodhound mix guy, just over a year old. I take treats very nicely; I’m friendly, loving and just waiting to find my forever home. I was brought in as a stray and my previous family didn’t come to get me. So, here I am havin’ a great time at Paws Shelter, but I sure would like to have a real family with kids, humans and other fur friends. Please come and meet me and see if I’m your guy!

PAWS Animal Shelter (cat)

Kettle is definitely a sweetheart. She would be the purr-fect pet! Give her a chance and she will easily win your heart. Kettle is an attractive, tortoiseshell-colored cat with adorable markings. She was rescued after being abandoned. Kettle was nervous when she first came to the shelter. Now she has blossomed into the most loving and affectionate kitty ever! All she needed was attention and a little bit of time to come out of her shell. Kettle likes to be held and will give you kisses. Although she loves all humans, she is not at all fond of other cats, so Kettle would need to be an only cat.

She would like to come home with you and be your forever friend. Kettle likes to sit on your lap or just hang out with you. She has a great purr and enjoys playing with toys. She is up to date on her shots and spayed. She has been wormed and she tested negative for feline leukemia. She is litter box trained. Kettle is ready for her forever family.

We also could use donations of bleach, laundry detergent and clumping cat litter. We are a nonprofit organization that operates only by donations. We do not receive any city, county or state funding. We depend on public donations and our adoption fees to run the shelter. Please consider making a donation to help fund our shelter.

Champaign County Animal Welfare League

Sweet Annie was found by a good Samaritan. She was lying on the side of a country road. She was brought to us here at the Champaign County Animal Welfare League half starved and urine-stained with open sores. We gave her the name Annie, and she at that moment began her new life. Annie has gained 10lbs in the two and half weeks she has been with us. We believe Annie to be an American Bulldog; she now weighs almost 50lbs and is looking great. This young lady is 3 years old, and the most appreciative, loving dog you’ll ever meet. She is very timid around cats and acts more afraid of them than anything. Annie seems to be fine with other dogs, and doesn’t meet a stranger. Annie is looking for her new forever home, where she will never have to worry about where her next meal is coming from, or that she may be abandoned again. Annie is fully Vetted including Spayed, vaccinated (+ Rabies), HW tested, wormed, started on heartworm prevention and given a three month flea prevention. Annie has had a dental cleaning and been micro chipped as well. If you would like more information on Annie or any of our adoptable residents please visit our facility located at 3858 State Route 56, Mechanicsburg. To see a complete listing of our available pets go to petfinder.com and/or adoptapet.com.

To stay alerted to our newest arrivals you can follow us on FACEBOOK. For questions or more information give us a call at 937-834-5236.

Finding new forever homes for our residents is our main goal. It is our responsibility to find each and every animal that comes to us the best suitable home. To ensure this we do require an approved adoption application for any of our pets. You can either come in and fill out an application at our facility or download an app from our website – www.champaigncoanimalwelfareleague.com. If you currently have pets, or have recently had pets we require a Vet Reference to approve an application. Our adoption/donation is $130.00 which not only includes all Vetting listed above but also a 2017 Dog License.

Barely Used Pets

Hi! My name is Rusty. I am a 7-year-old wire-haired Jack Russell and I weigh 25 pounds. I am already neutered, up to date on shots, crate-trained and when I have to go outside to potty, I will spin in a circle! I am great with cats, kids and other dogs. I have been with a family my whole life but the 6 month old baby has extreme allergies to everything. It broke their hearts to surrender me. I come with my crate, toys, and food dishes. Please give me a chance to have a new forever family. I promise to “spin” for you when I need to go out and I will love you so much you won’t have a bucket big enough to hold it all.

Please visit our website: www.barelyusedpets.com. Also, like us on Facebook at Barely Used Pets Rescue (put spaces between the words). Barely Used Pets is located at 844 Jackson Hill Road in Urbana, Ohio. You can give us a call at 937-869-8090. Our regular hours are: Open Sunday 1-4pm, Wednesday and Thursdays 11am-6pm, Fridays 11am-5pm and Saturday 11am-2pm. We are CLOSED on Monday and Tuesday. We can always use donations and they are all of those basic supplies that we use so quickly. We need Clorox the most right now if you can drop off a couple of gallons for us! We need Lysol Lemon spray cleaner, paper towels, Dawn dish soap (original), and laundry soap. We can also use the elevated pet beds by Kuranda (go to kuranda.com). Any donations are always appreciated. Please take a look at our website for other ideas for donations. Happy New Year from all of us at Barely Used Pets! Thank you all for adopting our little ones and for all of the donations and volunteer work you have done throughout the year 🙂

Rusty says: Thanks so much for considering me and helping Barely Used Pets help all of us little ones find our forever homes! OK…so what are you waiting for? Let’s go home!

The cat named Kettle was abandoned, so understandably was nervous when taken to PAWS Animal Shelter. Now, however, she loves to love people and is ready for a new home. She does not take to other cats, so needs to be in a one-cat home. check her out at PAWS.
