Mburg board approves library trustee, hires coaches

MECHANICSBURG – The Mechanicsburg Exempted Village Schools board reappointed a Mechanicsburg Public Library trustee and hired coaches at its Monday meeting.

The board reappointed Alexandra Kimball to the library board for a seven-year term, beginning Jan. 1, 2017. The board also hired Varsity Baseball Head Coach Bryan Eyink and Varsity Softball Head Coach Abbey DeLong, both for the 2016-17 school year.

The board commended Mary Beedy and the Mothers Memorial Circle for providing Christmas for 14 Mechanicsburg families, including 30 young children and 14 teenagers. They were assisted in the project by the American Legion and Mechanicsburg Fire and EMS.

In other action, the board:

•Accepted $50 from Daniel and Sandra Gaver for the Holiday Celebration Meal; $200 from VFW Post 5451 for a one-time scholarship awarded at the principal’s discretion; $1,000 from Tony and Emily Rozmus for the wrestling program to cover student gear; $3,341 for the FFA Meals of Hope fundraiser; and $1,620 from American Legion Post 238 for the eighth grade Washington, D.C. trip.
