The Champaign County Youth Choir will present its annual holiday concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at the First Presbyterian Church on West Court Street in Urbana. The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. All are welcome.

The choir is directed by Kristen Williams, elementary music teacher at Graham, and accompanied by Jane Martin, elementary music teacher at Urbana North and South elementaries. Jane Martin is also the assistant director.

The choir began its 24th year on Oct. 1, and 38 choristers have signed up for this year. Planning and administration are handled by a steering committee consisting of Ed Hardin, president and one of the original founders of the choir, Diane Kremer, treasurer, Sonia Haines and Julie Trudo, parent representatives and directors, and Williams and Martin.

The choir year runs from October through April and is open to all students in Champaign County grades 3 through 8. There are no auditions; the love of music and singing is the only requirement.
