The public is invited to attend an informational session on new OSHA fines and current trends in OSHA site visits at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the Champaign County Community Center. The event will be hosted by the county Safety Council, a program of the BWC Division of Safety & Hygiene sponsored by the county Chamber of Commerce.

Attendees will learn more about new OSHA regulations and fines, including the types of situations in which most accidents occur, statistical reports documenting the outcomes employers experience after an OSHA visit, and some safety basics that all employers should cover to avoid penalties.

The session will be led by Gary W. Auman, Esq., director with Dayton law firm Dunlevey, Mahan & Furry, and an authority in the area of workers’ compensation and occupational safety and health law. Auman represents both small and large companies and is general counsel to several national and regional trade associations. He is a member of the American, Ohio State, and Dayton Bar Associations, and past chairman of the Workers’ Compensation Committee for the Dayton Bar Association.

Cost of the event is $15 per person. Safety Council members or Chamber member businesses can invite up to three guests free of charge. Breakfast catered by In Good Taste Catering will be provided to registered attendees before the session begins. Those interested in attending should contact the Chamber at 937-653-5764 or [email protected] no later than Friday, Dece. 9.
