Motorcylist released from hospital following crash

CONOVER – A motorcyclist involved in a crash from Sunday has been released from the hospital as of Monday.

According to a press release from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office, James Eberly, 58, of Sidney, was released from Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, after he was flown there following a crash.

On Sunday at 5:37 p.m., Champaign Countywide Communication Center received a 911 call in reference to a possible two-vehicle injury motorcycle crash occurring on state Route 235 near state Route 29.

Rosewood Fire and EMS along with Champaign County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the location.

Officials learned Eberly was traveling southbound on state Route 235 on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when his rear tire blew out. Eberly tried to gain control but received a head injury. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Eberly’s wife was reportedly also traveling on state Route 235 behind him and observed the crash but she was not involved in the crash.

CareFlight was called to the accident location and flew Eberly to the hospital. No charges will be filed in reference to the crash.
