Aviation Museum offers lecture on U.S. POWs

The Champaign Aviation Museum, 1652 N. Main St., Urbana, will host a free lecture at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, on the lives of U.S. Army Air Force servicemen who spent time in German POW camps during WWII. More than 24,000 U.S. Airmen were confined in Luft-Stalags in Germany and Austria during the war. All interested in, or who want to learn about, “Kriegies” are invited to attend. National POW & MIA Appreciation Day is Friday, Sept. 16.

Those attending also can check out the progress of the Champaign Lady B-17 restoration project.
