Dogs making new friends at Fido’s Field in Urbana’s Melvin Miller Park

Dogs and their people are finding new decor at Fido’s Field, the dog park within Urbana’s Melvin Miller Park. Donated by the Urbana Fire Division after an upgrade of local fire hydrants, old hydrants were given a Dalmatian look by Steve McInturff. On the helmets are the letters UFD, for Urbana Fire Division, and CCCI, for Champaign County Citizens for Canines Inc., the group that created Fido’s Field. This photo indicates dogs may take to the decorated hydrants.
