West Liberty’s Bailey House to stay

0

WEST LIBERTY – At the latest West Liberty Village Council meeting there was discussion about the fate of the Bailey House, a historic house that some residents want to save and others don’t. There were new developments on the side of the Historical Society. A direct descendent of the Bailey family, not wanting to see the house torn down, donated funds needed to secure the house and pay the insurance for several years. This would give the Historical Society time to raise the funds needed for restoration for the future home for a museum.

Chris Moell, village attorney, and the attorney for the Historical Society will work together to research what needs to happen for the building to be turned over to the Historical Society, with the possible exception of the city parking area. The date is as yet unknown when this will be brought to the city council meeting.
