Maile Moyer of Champaign County received a $1,000 scholarship from the Ohio Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association. Moyer plans to pursue studies in Animal Sciences-Animal Biosciences at The Ohio State University’s College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.

Andrew Fansler of Urbana graduated from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Junior Cadet Program, held June 26-30 at the Highway Patrol Training Academy in Columbus. He was one of 40 selected for this year’s program, whose purpose is to provide insight into the challenges faced by law enforcement officers through experiencing a typical week at the academy. They gain information on a variety of topics, including crash investigations, officer-violator contacts, self-defense tactics and K-9 operations.
