Life Chain is Oct. 4

Champaign County Right to Life will hold its annual Life Chain witness 2-3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 4, on Monument Square, Urbana. This national event is in memory of the over 58 million babies aborted since 1973. Participants will be provided with signs and banners to hold. Refreshments will be served afterward at the Right to Life Office, 122 Miami St., Urbana. For more information, call Champaign County Right to Life at 937 653-6745.

Ceremony honors US Army Air Corps veterans

The Champaign Aviation Museum, Urbana, will hold a Remembrance Day ceremony for U.S. Army Air Corps veterans of WWII at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. The service is for families of deceased USAAC veterans and for living veterans and their families. It is a day to honor and remember those who sacrificed their lives during WWII. A.B. Graham Center hosts Senior Luncheon

A Senior Luncheon will be held Thursday, Oct. 1, at the A.B. Graham Center on U.S. Route 36 in Conover, Miami County. The program starts at 11 a.m. and the meal at noon. Cost is $6. Open to everyone. Female World War II pilots to visit Oct. 10

The Champaign Aviation Museum in partnership with Ridgewood School in Springfield will host several of the female pilots who flew during World War II. They served the United States flying the aircraft such as B-17, B-25, P-51 and many others. These Women Air Service Pilots now in their 90’s will be speaking about their experiences. The brunch event is Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon to hear the women pilots of the greatest generation. Event is open to the public. Cost is $20 and includes a light brunch.
