ST. PARIS – The last big hurrah of the year at Kiser Lake State Park occurs Oct. 2-4 with free activities for the public. The schedule includes Saturday hay rides from 2 to 4 p.m., launching of potato heads at the beach at 6 p.m., a Mini Haunted Trail at the middle campground playground at 8 p.m. and animal programs.

On Sunday, participate in the Ohio Butterfly Survey. Listen to scary Champaign County stories while walking though the Kiser Lake Wetlands.

Parking for those not camping is in front of the campgrounds. Arrangement for camping can be made through the Ohio State Parks Internet site and at the marina, which is open only on weekends. Supplies, bait and boat rentals are available there. Boat rates are $25 a day or $5 an hour. The paddle boat is $6 an hour. For more info, call the marina at 937-362-3565.
